SUPREME COURT OF INDIA
Date: 9th January, 2014
All concerned are hereby informed that Supreme Court of India has launched a Web-based solution for Visitor Management System for the Supreme Court of India. This system facilitates online registration of requests of Entry-Pass for Litigants (Petitioners / Respondents) and others visiting Supreme Court of India. This will help to minimize the time taken for issuance of Photo Entry Passes and facilitate convenience to the visitor by reducing rush during peak visit hours.
A link of this portal has been made available on the website of the Supreme Court of India I.e. http://sci.nic.in and also on the link http://scvms.gov.in/WebVisitorBookingNew.aspx. The system is accessible through any web-browser installed with the systems (Computer/Mobile) and no other software is required to be installed on the client's system.
For the on-line registration through Supreme Court Visitor Management System (SCVMS), litigants/visitors shall enter their personal details, purpose of visit and court case details (except photograph, which shall be captured on the day of visit at the Supreme Court Reception counter). While registering on the SCVMS portal, the system will accept request for pass of date within next 30 days. The system will generate SMS/e-mail for the visits registered and send them to the visitors and the advocate on record for the concerned case, in case of litigant, or concerned officer of the Registry, in case of other visitors, as mentioned in the request registered for online entry-pass. The advocate/concerned officer can validate / authenticate the said visit by clicking the hyperlink provided in the e-mail.
Once the visit is authenticated, litigants/visitors get generated the registration number which is to be shown to the Reception staff for getting the Entry Pass. The current status of the visit approval can also be enquired by the litigant/visitor on the website by entering the registration number. In case, if the visit could not be approved on-line by the AOR / Officer concerned, litigants/visitors can take the printout of the request generated through the website and get them approved by signature of the AOR / Officer concerned on the same.
Thereafter, litigant/visitor shall make himself/herself available at photo entry pass counter on the relevant date of visit with registration number and copy of his/her photo identity proof. Visitor pass will be issued to the approved litigant/visitor after capturing his/her photograph at the Supreme Court reception counter, on first come first serve basis. If litigant/visitor is earlier registered at least once with the SCVMS, he/she can refer his/her old registration number, mobile number or personal details for quick registration of his/her current visit at the Reception Counter.
A visitor, early having a Registration No. Of an earlier visit, may use the same on the SCVMS portal to avoid feeding the details again and have a fresh pass issued for different future date.
It may be noted that mere registration by this process shall not entitle the entry in the Supreme Court premises and the entry to premises will be governed by relevant orders/guidelines of the Competent Authority.
It may further be noted that issuance of passes as per old procedure will also continue for the time being to avoid any inconvenience to the litigants and other entrants who may not be aware of on-line registration and may approach Supreme Court Reception for issuance of entry pass.
